The FIRM is excited to reveal our latest research into the TA market. We really wanted to try and make some sense of the on-going ‘transformation’ of resourcing strategy and practice in the UK.
The resourcing community have a challenge on our hands with balancing the demands of delivery versus strategic initiatives, as marketing the employer brand and focusing on developing talent pipelines to ensure organisations have the right skills in place are both seen as some of the key priorities for the next 12 months.
Is technology limiting progress?
In the findings one of the challenges which stop Talent Acquisition teams focusing on future change and strategic initiatives is the inability of technology to support it. This means that companies will need to focus on getting the most out of both their legacy technology and sourcing the software on the market which can have the greatest impact for their organisation.
Recruitment as a career
In the 2013 STAR survey, resourcing professionals seemed to be a relatively transient community, with internal teams populated largely by ex-Agency Recruiters looking for a stepping stone to a wider role in HR. This appears to be changing with talented people now looking to forge long term careers in talent acquisition – providing that genuine pathways are created. There is less concern that there is not one industry recognised professional qualification in recruitment as it is not seen as something that holds people back in their careers.
