Whilst supporting our military community is undoubtedly the right thing to do, it also makes business sense. At the Firm we wanted to highlight this in the lead up to armed forced week.
For this event we will be joined by Kevin Gartside, Head of Military & Veteran Outreach at Barclays. Barclays is seen as one of the UK’s leading supporters of the armed forces community and in particular, helping veterans launch successful second careers after Service.
Military & Veterans Outreach is Barclays’ interface with all facets of our Armed Forces communities, creating opportunities to rise for Serving personnel, veterans, Reservists and the wider military family. For over 10 years, the Barclays MVO initiatives have supported Servicemen and women are able to learn more about – and take steps towards building – careers beyond the military, and ultimately land the right job. Barclays’ innovative approach has been recognised by the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme, with Barclays being awarded the highest level Gold Award. This support has been recognized in the US through the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. Military and Veterans Outreach consists of the following areas:
During this event Kevin will be joined by Tony Blaney, the Defence Relationship Manager for Barclays and they are keen to share with you how partner organisations and Armed Forces Covenant signatories, helped them build their military programmes.
